1 Overview

1.1 Introduction

The purpose of this memo is to summarize selected variables from the analytic DAD file. It provides a concise description of the data source and presents coverage, standardized descriptive statistics, and data-quality results.

Data preparation is completed in Memo A00. That memo reads the source workbook, constructs the research variables, and writes analytic_dad.rds. This memo does not rebuild those fields and does not repeat their definitions. Inpatient length of stay (los_days and acute_los_days) is already present in the analytic file. Alternate-level-of-care days remain a source field.

The memo is organized as follows:

  • Data identifies the analytic file written by Memo A00, reports the number of records and variables, and lists all available variables, without displaying row-level records.
  • Analysis reports date and fiscal-year coverage, summarizes registered measures with methods suited to each variable type, and presents quality-status distributions and consistency checks.

1.2 Data

Training data notice: The DAD data used in this memo are randomly generated synthetic data intended solely for training and demonstration purposes. They do not represent real patients or actual operational records. Preprocessing, including construction of the derived research variables, is completed in Memo A00. This memo reads that analytic file only.

The variable registry maps 64 of 64 registered DAD variables. The loaded data contain 60000 records.
